Clarity was formed in 1994 as a custom market research company. For our first 10 years, we were singularly focused on primary market research of industrial markets. Our core competencies include working with company management to define a set of market research goals and developing reliable actionable market intelligence that enable our clients' to make better informed business decisions.

Clarity works primarily with B2B focused manufactures, allied distribution and business service providers. Across our 20+ years, we have produced hundreds of custom market studies across a range of industrial markets.

For acquisition searches - we identify synergies that traditional search firms may overlook. We excel at engaging the owners of conforming acquisition prospects by communicating our domain knowledge.
For sell side engagements - we outperform our peers by more fully grasping the market facing features of the deal and enunciating synergies available to each prospective buyer.

- Long view
Clarity is not dependent on success fees – so we can take a long view when working with our clients. Many of our engagements can be characterized as 'grooming' or value creation work in advance of a future liquidity event.
Clarity began by working almost exclusively for Diversified Industrials and corporate clients remain a key segment of our client base. We also understand the acquisition objectives of a well over 100 Private Equity firms and family offices. Our deep network enables Clarity to match investors with closely held companies – in ways that reflect the unique features of each business and its owners' objectives.
- Markets before Beans
Clarity views the world differently from most investment bankers. While we understand the importance of sound financial management, our primary focus is on market facing features of a business. A company does not become more valuable through growth alone; its growth needs to be based on a strategy that addresses unmet market needs or other well understood market opportunities.
Clarity has proven itself as a trusted advisor with a candid and objective voice. Many of our relationships with private companies were established through an acquisition search. Even where our fiduciaries are tied to an investor, we understand that deals only happen where they work for both parties. We have cultivated a buyer pool that embraces our approach and agrees that relationships built on trust avoid conflicts of interest.
Investment bankers tend to approach each potential engagement according to their preferred work mode. Given our three legged business model, Clarity is able to apply great flexibility and unbiased approach that aligns with each situation. Our role can even morph over time based on our more fully formed understanding of the owners' objectives, changing market conditions and deeper trust relationship. For example, an established client may authorize Clarity to introduce their company to a carefully selected investor where the prospective buyer pays our fee if a deal is completed.
